Navigation

Support is enabled on ArcGIS Mission Responder to provide navigable (turn by turn) directions while in an active mission. When a location is selected, the responder application provides the user with the option to utilize ArcGIS Navigator (if enabled) as well as Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze Navigation.

Navigation can be accessed from the active mission map in the responder application by long pressing the screen at the location on the map that you wish to navigate to.

Use navigation in ArcGIS Mission Responder

To use navigation in ArcGIS Mission Responder, complete the following steps:

  1. While in an active mission map, long press the screen where you wish to navigate.

Navigation mode is active once a red pin is visible at the selected location and an Options box appears at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Select an option:
    • Hide Layers: if the map is congested with a number of points, lines, or polygons, this will temporarily hide all layer icons displayed on the map.
    • Directions: opens the directions selection.
    • X: closes out of directions.
  3. Select the desired app you wish to use to provide directions.

    Note:
Only apps installed on the device (ArcGIS Navigator, Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze) will be displayed in the selections list.

  4. The device will enter into the selected map application.
  5. To return to the Responder application, do the following
    • iOS: Blue Icon at the top of the screen.
    • AND: Exit out of routing program and manually reenter into Responder.
