Specify the number of error reports to save

When ArcGIS Server crashes, it attempts to write an error report. This error report can be emailed to the Esri development team to improve the quality of future releases of the software.

Using ArcGIS Server Manager, you can specify the number of error reports to save on disk or disable error reporting through the steps below.

  1. Log in to ArcGIS Server Manager using an account with administrator privileges to ArcGIS Server. If you need help with this step, see Log in to Manager.
  2. Click Logs > Error Reports.
  3. On the Error Reports module, click Settings.
  4. Specify the number of error reports to save on disk. To disable error reporting, type 0.
  5. Click Save.

Every 24 hours, ArcGIS Server deletes the error reports on disk to match the maximum number of error reports to be saved. Only the oldest error reports are deleted. The 24-hour interval is based on the time that ArcGIS Server was started. Therefore, you may occasionally see more error reports on disk than the maximum value you specified above.

If you want to immediately apply your changes so that the number of error reports saved on disk do not exceed the maximum number of error reports you specified, restart the ArcGIS Server service.
